Visa

Visas granted by the Indian government’s authorities must be obtained in order to travel to India. The visa has a 60-day validity period with a few restrictions and is issued for the business, tourist, medical, and conference categories. You can apply for the visa online or in person at the Indian Mission, Indian Post, and Indian Embassy.

An easy way to obtain a visa for India is to use the E-Visa (Electronic Visa) feature of the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system. Three subcategories of the E-Visa that exist are: e-Tourist Visa, e-Business Visa, and e-Medical Visa.

You must apply for an eVisa at least four calendar days prior to your arrival date and up to 120 days beforehand. After the date of arrival, the approved visa is good for a full calendar year.

Any continuous stay on an e-tourist visa is limited for 90 days. The only exceptions are those with e-business visas, who can stay for a maximum of 180 days and visitors from Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, and all other countries.

You are qualified for an eVisa if you are a citizen of one of the countries listed below.
